Steps to becoming an instructor
We take pride in knowing that each instructor under our Site is not only ready to offer the highest quality education, but that they're compliant with all AHA requirements.
Step 1
Each Instructor Candidate (IC) is required to hold a provider card in any discipline they're wanting to teach. Before you start the instructor process with us, make sure you have the necessary cards.
You can see what AHA eCards you currently have by following the link HERE.
To start the process, please complete an AHA instructor candidate application, found HERE. We will collect it during your instructor course.
Step 2
Before you begin, it is important to purchase the necessary instructor manuals and course videos. These are required by the AHA and it will not be possible to complete step 3 without having the instructor manuals. These can be purchased HERE.
Step 3
Prior to completing your instructor course, each IC is required by the AHA to take an instructor essentials online course. This is a short online course that gets you familiar with the instructor materials prior to taking our instructor course(s). The instructor essentials courses can be purchased HERE.
Step 4
Once you have completed your instructor essentials, please reach out to us to schedule your instructor training. We can be reached via email HERE, or give us a call.
At the time of your class, you must have copies of the following and send them to us via email:
1. Copy of Provider cards
2. Completed AHA instructor instructor application
3. Copy of Instructor Essentials Certificate
Step 5
Once you have completed your instructor course with us, we will monitor you teaching a class. With the monitoring form completed, we will issue your instructor card and complete your alignment with us. To see the expectations for the course monitoring you can see the form HERE.
